MP’s plea to support local businesses
Malton MP Kevin Hollinrake has appealed to residents to show their support to the tourism and hospitality sector following a challenging three months.
He has welcomed the re-opening pubs, bars and restaurants and a host of others across the constituency on Saturday (July 4) which he says will boost up to 900 businesses across Thirsk and Malton.

“It is vital for the regional economy and for jobs. Personally, I can’t wait for my first pint.”
Shops in Malton are to be given roundel signs urging residents to support the town’s businesses as part of what Town Mayor Paul Emberley called a “call to arms”.
Outlining his idea for the signs which would be provided by the council, he said: “Many local traders have suffered as a result of the pandemic and some, I fear won’t re-open.”
He said it was vital there should be a recovery plan with all councils involved.
