‘A host of golden daffodils’ but no Wordsworth Festival in Brompton-by-Sawdon
The festival had been planned to commemorate Wordsworth’s 250th birthday with a number of celebrations designed to capitalise on the notable poet’s marriage to Mary Hutchinson, which took place at All Saints Church in the village.
Whilst the planned celebrations are no longer going ahead, certain elements of the festival were set in motion back in November and consequently, a ‘host of golden daffodils’ planted by the village children are in full bloom.
