Sunday League fixtures & preview: Prethero confident of FILO win
With James Prethero’s United side winning in North Riding Challenge Cup last weekend thanks to keeper James Burrows’ penelty heroics, they go into this game on a high.
But they meet a side who have scored 64 goals in nine league games, which included a 14-0 demolition of Barrowcliff Reserves last time out.

Hide AdPrethero knows this will be a tough game for his side. He said: “They are are a very good team and are more than capable of holding their own in the first division.
“It’s going to be a hard game, but we have a good enough and determined team to come away with the win.”
Prethero has full confidence in his team. He added: “I’m confident in the team I have, but James Burrows is up there with the best keepers in town, Chris Hannam is a great all-round player and Jamie Heritage and Aiden McCallion have been very impressive for us as well this season and these players are capable of causing teams problems.
“We also have a couple of 17-year-old lads in Thomas Sutherland and Connor Bell, who are playing for the local Scholarship Team and they have handled the step up to senior football brilliantly.

“We lost quite a few players in the summer for one reason or another, so this season is re-building in the first division,” added Prethero.
