Scarborough sink to Beverley defeat at Beaver Park
However they were beaten and slipped out of promotion contention despite participating in a game that would have pleased the neutrals in the crowd.
The Seasiders opened the scoring with a Tom Harrison penalty with only three minutes played and a further exchange of kicks between Harrison and Beverley full-back Jamie Gill saw Scarborough lead 6-3 after fifteen minutes.

Hide AdWith the visitors struggling to get into the game, Beverley took control and a couple of tries saw them lead 15-6 at the break.
Scarborough never looked like scoring a first half try and things got worse for them just after the break when a Beverley penalty followed by a converted try from close range saw them trail 6-25 on the hour.
It looked as if it was going to be a long afternoon for the men from Silver Royd but they came back with a flourish when they got the bit between their teeth in the fourth quarter running in tries in the 61st and 64th minutes through centre Loni-loni and number eight Isaac Faamau, both converted by Harrison to reduce the arrears to five points at 25-20 and it was game-on.
Although rattled, Beverley struck back with a penalty and a converted second try for Hazell to knock the stuffing out of Scarborough at 35-20 with five minutes to go.

Hide AdA well-worked try in injury time from prop Nino Cutino converted by Harrison made no difference to the outcome and Beverley were full value for their bonus point win.
Scarborough’s second string, the Vikings fared better than their 1st XV club mates, beating Beverley 2nds 29-22 at Silver Royd.
