THE fundraising effort in Fridaythorpe in aid of St Mary's Church extended to two days over the weekend.

A coffee morning was arranged for Saturday morning but due to bad weather organisers invited people back the following day.

A total of £147 was raised for the renovation of the central heating system and porch, which means fundraisers have collected half of their target amount of £2,600.

The Rev Ian Mackarill, the non-stipendary minister for St Mary's, said more work would be put in to ensure the target would be met.
