DRIFFIELD has been celebrating St George's Day thanks to a well-attended parade by the local scout group.
Driffield and District Scouts were out in force to parade through the streets of the town from Riverhead to the parish church to celebrate the patron saint of England.
District Commissioner, Jenny Joyce, the county commissioner and the Mayor of Driffield, councillor John Pougher, led the parade of dozens of Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Explorers, Network Scouts, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows through the town.
Driffield and District Scouts secretary Carol Oliver said: "It went very well, it was well attended, everybody was there and there was a good service at the church which was also very well attended."
The parade, which was accompanied by the town band, ended at All Saint's Parish Church, in Driffield where the congregation took part in a special service given by the Rev Mike Smith.
During the service members of the Driffield and District Scouts renewed their promises to the service.
Certificates of service were presented to Scout leaders while some Scouts and Cubs received certificates of achievement.
