A REFINED musical experience is on offer in North Yorkshire at the end of the month with several big-name electronica artists set to play.
Gary Numan, Morcheeba and Ladytron will perform at the first Magic Loungeabout to be held in the surroundings of Newburgh Priory in Coxwold.

Also on the line-up are Nouvelle Vague, The Egg and Pacific.

The pioneering event aims to take the hass
le and mud-caked crowds out of festival-going and offers an intimate and laid back venue in which to enjoy 24 hours of electronic pop.

Guests can picnic in the landscaped gardens of the Priory by day, enjoying unspoiled views of across the North Yorkshire Moors National Park as far as the White Horse of Kilburn.

Anyone wishing to take a break from the music, which starts at noon on Saturday August 30 and ends at noon the following day, can spend time playing on a golf simulator, shopping at the on-site farmer's market or having a relaxing massage in the spa area.

Children will be catered for by qualified carers in the crèche and occupied with hourly story reading in the Magic Garden.

An after show party with cocktails under the stars will be held in the unique roofless West Wing of the Priory, featuring DJ sets from 11pm until 3am.

Overnight camping in the gardens of Newburgh Priory will be available at no extra cost or bell tents, which sleep four people, are still available in the yurt village for £235 plus £78 per person for the admission ticket.

Promoter Simon Adamson said: "The Magic Loungeabout is the first 24-hour musical picnic in the UK and promises to be a grown-up festival experience with champagne bars, the world's biggest luxury yurt bar and online picnic hamper ordering, with menus especially created for the event.

"I'm delighted that we've chosen to hold this event in Yorkshire as I grew up in Harrogate so I know that the north sometimes misses out on good music events."

A limited number of tickets, priced at £78, have been made available for The Magic Loungeabout and are available online through e-tickets.
