A HEALTH and social care event for people with a learning disability, and their families or carers, will be held next month at Tickton Grange Hotel.
The event will be held on Thursday July 3, from 10am to 2.30pm. It is aimed at helping to remove some of the barriers which can make it difficult for people with learning disabilities to access the public services that can support them in maintaining
their health and wellbeing.

Organised by the East Riding of Yorkshire PCT, East Riding Council and Mencap, the main focus of the event will be to reduce anxieties about health issues, increase knowledge about a sensible lifestyle and raise awareness about the importance of healthy eating, physical activity, looking after teeth, eyes and feet and the importance of regular health screenings.

Friendly, approachable staff will be available on the day to answer questions, together with interactive display stands, and information in an easy to read format on a variety of other issues.

There is no need to pre-book a place - all members of the public with a learning disability and their families or carers are welcome to attend on the day.

For further information, please ring Ursula Siegle on (01482) 863062 or Sue Dinsdale on (01482) 860458.
