LIVE music from a leading covers band will entertain the crowds for a fundraising event.
The Northern Monkeys have been booked to play at The Star Inn at Weaverthorpe for the Theakstons Big Day Out.
Landlords of the pub, Benjamin Micallef and Eddie Hall, have organised the event to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service and some of the proceeds will also go to Weaverthorpe CE Primary School.
The Northern Monkeys will play a set list of pop and rock songs from the 1960s to the modern day for all musical tastes.
Founded in 2003, the band members are Benji on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Jamie on lead guitar and backing vocals, Toby on bass and Sean on drums.
Their repertoire features classic numbers by The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Undertones, James, U2, Green Day and Radiohead.
Kicking off at 3pm on Saturday August 30 the Big Day Out will also have a bouncy castle, bucking bronco, Beacon Farm ice cream and a barbecue.
Live music will be performed throughout the day with the final set being played by the Northern Monkeys.
