The Neumes, Paul Liddell, Edwina Hayes, Jess Bannister and Mike Cain are some of the local acts lined up for the festival in June, and they will give music lovers a taste of what to expect with an exceptional evening's entertainment in Cherry Burton, starting at 8pm.

Cherry Burton Arts organiser Jayne Scott explained; "Most of these musicians have played in Cherry Burton before, and all could easily headline in their own right. To have them all on the same night will be brilliant!

"We think the festival is a great asset to the area and we will be sponsoring some events there again this year."

Driffield-based Edwina Hayes has a growing army of admirers, having been repeatedly chosen to tour with the likes of Nancy Griffith and Jools Holland.

Her solo shows are a blend of well-crafted songs, beautifully sung and played.

Having honed her musical skills while living in Nashville, she has a new album, Pour Me a Drink and will be playing at main stage events at the festival.

Eighteen year old Jess Bannister, from Swanland, won the Hull Talent Trail last year and since then has spent much of her time writing and recording her own material.

Paul Liddell is an outstanding guitarist, singer and songwriter from Sunderland. His 2005 release A Lighthouse Keepers Diary, earned him national acclaim.

The Neumes are a mostly very young female band playing unusual self-penned material on a variety of instruments.

York-based singer/songwriter Miles Cain has become one of the country's most promising acts with his Neil Young/Dylan influenced songs.
