THE Galtres Entertainment Centre in Easingwold will host two plays presented by the Stephen Joseph Theatre Company.
The plays are being presented at the Stephen Joseph Theatre during the summer on a lunch time, but the Galtres Centre has been lucky enough to secure a performance of them in the new theatre.
Spoonface Steinberg by Lee Hall, writer of Billy Elliott, is a moving and often very funny play, and audaciously seeks to answer the fundamental questions of human existence through the musings of an autistic child, and was voted one of the best radio dramas of all time by Radio Times.
Howard and Mimi is about Nick and Jane moving in together, his dog comes with him and her cat has to make room.
Hostility and suspicion turn to domesticity and affection in this quirky and unusual play, looking at issues from politics and death, to the battle of the sexes. A ‘first’ by the Galtres Centre in arranging for the highly acclaimed Stephen Joseph Theatre Company to come and perform in the town.
Both plays will take place on September 12 at 7.30pm.
