SUPPORTERS of Kilham Churches Together gathered for a coffee morning at the village's Methodist Chapel on Saturday to raise funds for Christian Aid Week.

A total of £168 was raised at the event, with a further £34.85 collected from a stall selling a range of Fair Trade goods, including coffee and chocolate.

The village's Methodist minister, the Rev Rosemary Nicholls, said she felt they had raised a good amount of money for a small village.

The churches have also joined forces to distribute collection envelopes to every home in the village for Christian Aid Week, which is running this week.

The envelopes will be collected during the course of the week.
