CHILDREN will step into the limelight for a Driffield talent contest.
Youngsters are being invited to prove they have what it takes to win the town's Extra Factor talent competition.
Staged at the Blue Bell Inn on Riverhead, young talent will compete to win the Mima Mackinnon Wright Memorial Shield.

The shield has been donated as a prize for the talent contest by Robbie Wright, of Driffield, in memory of his late wife and Driffield Folk Club member, Mima Mackinnon Wright.

The competition is being held as part of Driffield Folk Festival on Saturday August 23 between 3.30pm and 5pm.

Children up to the age of 16 may sing, dance, play a musical instrument, tell a joke or show off any skill or talent for the panel of judges.

Entry is free and all participants will receive a certificate.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Folk Festival, which is held annually at various venues in Driffield, will kick off with a performance by Gibby MacNaught, Schiltrum and Edwina Hayes at the Blue Bell from 8pm on Friday August 22.

Tablets of Stone will open the stage at the Tiger on Market Place from 8pm.
