A DRIFFIELD resident has claimed that mysterious orange lights seen over the town last Monday night may not have just been Chinese lanterns as first thought.
Len Hulkes has contacted the Driffield Times to say he saw one bright orange light hovering in the sky near Driffield Railway Station and heading in the direction of Kelleythorpe.

He said the orange glow did not seem to be moving with the wind and he believes it was an unidentified flying object.

Mr Hulkes said this was not the first time he has seen something strange in the skies, claiming to have seen a UFO back in the 1960s.

A number of Chinese lanterns were set off last Monday in memory of Vicki Walton, who died of cancer aged 27.

Last Monday would have been her 28th birthday.
