A NAFFERTON coal man will run the London Marathon for the last time this year.
David Pudsey, who operates JW Pudsey in the village, has pledged to make 2008 his final marathon year at the age of 50.

He will be running this Sunday in support of Martin House Children’s Hospice which cared for his daughter, Hannah, who was born with a heart defect.

She underwent a heart transplant in 2001 and was cared for by staff at the Leeds-based Martin House before and after the life-saving operation.

David’s wife, Ros, said he intends this to be his last crack at the event as he has picked up some injuries over the past 18 months.

David, who runs for Driffield Striders, is aiming for a time of around three hours 30 minutes.

To sponsor David contact him on (01377) 257159.
