HEALTH officials in East Yorkshire have this morning, Wednesday, confirmed the number of cases of swine flu in the region has risen to three.
The news came after a teenage boy from Beverley who attends the Hymers' College in Hull was revealed to have contracted the virus.
An 11 year old girl from Hull became the first victim of the virus in the Humber region last month, but has since made a few recovery.
The other case is understood to affect an East Riding resident.
But a spokesman for NHS Hull, who co-ordinate swine flu planning for the Humber region, including Hull, the East Riding, North and North East Lincolnshire, said they could not confirm where the patient lives for confidentiality reasons.
She said all that could be stated was that the case was not related to a school and that no further information would be released.
