TIME is running out for Nafferton villagers to complete their entries ahead of the climax of the annual Nafferton In Bloom competitions next weekend.
Parish council chairman Andrew Oliver and Jill Johnson of the competition sponsors, Primepak, will be officiating at the presentation ceremony at the village hall next Saturday, July 12.

Entries in the competitions will be accepted at the village
hall from 9am. Judging will get underway at 11am, with the presentations getting underway at 12 noon. Refreshments will also be available.
A new category this year is a competition to make a scarecrow, which is open to youngsters aged between 12 and 16.

It is hoped that, if successful, the category could be developed further in time for next year's competition.

Winning entries in the other children's sections - the drawing of flowers, a tray garden and a poster advertising Nafferton In Bloom - will all be displayed after the presentations at the Nether Lane Country shop on Nethergate, by permission of Annette Rodgers.

And photographs of the winning entries in the Londis Shield, awarded to the best floral display at a business, and the Feoffees Trophy, awarded to the best private dwelling fronting the pavement, will also be displayed.
