Sir Jimmy Savile, who was informed of Michael Jackson's sudden death at around 7.50am today, gave his reaction.
ir Jim, who is often at his home in Scarborough, said: "I was on stage with Michael Jackson at one of his open air shows.
"He was a very likeable and vital person.
"We have lost a fantastic character and what with Elvis, Buddy Holly and John Lennon, there's an amazing band in heaven!"
