EFFORTS by Nafferton In Bloom officials to help the village look its best have been praised by the chairman of the village's parish council.
Coun Andrew Oliver paid tribute to the committee's work at the council's meeting on Wednesday night, hours after the village had been assessed by Yorkshire In Bloom judges.

The meeting was told that more than half a tonne of litter had been cleared around the village in the build-up to the judges' visit.

And, in thanking the committee for their efforts, Mr Oliver said: "I thought the village looked really good."
