PARISH councillors have welcomed a commitment from developers to give a new Nafferton housing estate the historic name of the land.
The site off Station Road, where more than 50 new homes are set to be built by the Hull based Beal Homes, will now be officially known as The Nunnings.

The Nunnings is understood to be the historical name given to the site, which was previously owned jointly by the Diocese of York and the Nafferton Feoffees.

The news of the naming of the site follows discussions between the company and parish councillors last month, where the issue was first raised.
