SUPPORTERS of the Nafferton Bells Fund got on their bikes at the weekend for a sponsored cycle covering large parts of the surrounding area.
Nine riders took part in the event on Saturday, which covered routes of 16 miles or 26 miles through Wansford, Skerne, Hutton Cranswick and Watton before returning to Nafferton.

Committee secretary Margaret Senior said that, though they had been slightly disappointed by the response to the event, the riders had all received good support from sponsors. The final total raised is not yet known.

Final preparations are now underway for the committee’s next fundraising event, a craft fair this weekend.

The fair will take place at the village hall this Saturday, May 3, between 10am and 4pm and will include a variety of craft, book and cake stalls.

Morning coffee with toasted teacakes and afternoon tea and cakes will be available. There will also be a raffle and tombola. For more information, telephone Mrs Senior on (01377) 254402.
