Letter: An excellent midwife and good friend
When I went into St Mary’s Hospital to have my children – as it was the maternity hospital – I always hoped that Barbara would be on duty and three times she was.
The last time I was admitted, Barbara looked at me and said, ‘Oh! Not you again!’ and laughed, which put me more at ease.

Barbara was a good friend and neighbour to my sister too, when the lived in Malvern Crescent a few years ago.
I feel privileged to have known Barbara in my lifetime.
