Tributes to Ronald - who left his art as a legacy to Bridlington
Ronald Falck, a former teacher at Headlands School, designed the Anchorman on Bridlington harbour and the shepherd and his flock who stand on the roundabout near to the Dotterel pub at Reighton.
Daughter Charlotte said: “I’m sure the people of Bridlington will appreciate the work he did.

As well as teaching in Bridlington, Ronald spent time as artist in residence at Castle Howard and lecturing in America.
He leaves three daughters, Charlotte, Rosie and Christina, and four grandchildren, Victoria, Laura, Michael and Jasmine. Ronald’s wife Mary died in February. His son-in-law Gary helped him to manoeuvre the statues into their positions and Bridlington councillor David Robson worked with Ronald on the Anchorman sculpture, even donating his boots for the figure to wear.

“I think the roundabout with the sheep will be the iconic tribute to him. Everybody knows it.”
