Nafferton, at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, stretches for about a mile southwards from the Driffield-Bridlington road. The parish church, All Saints, is the oldest building. Due to the varied types of building, and its historical features, much of Nafferton is a conservation area some years ago. Although many of the houses were originally built earlier, development in the 18th century is marked by the numerous date stones, the earliest being 1746. Nafferton supports many organisations and sports and hobbies are also well catered for. It has a school, doctor's surgery, post office and newsagent, a small supermarket, a fish and chip shop and cafe, four public houses and several mobile tradesmen including a library, besides many small businesses. It has retained rail links with Hull, Scarborough, Beverley and Bridlington. That Nafferton is a pleasant place to live is shown by the rapid sale of new houses, both to local people and those from further afield.
