Driffield's hard hitting teenager Dan Broumpton put bat to ball with a vengeance playing for East Yorkshire in the Joe Lumb U17 Trophy on Sunday.
The young former Brandesburton batsman clumped four huge sixes and five fours in a sparkling 101 against the York and District Senior League on a damp pitch at Stamford Bridge on Sunday before the weather had the final say.
East Yorkshire skipper and left hander Dom Rhodes made a fine 81 whilst sharing a productive stand with Broumpton worth 145 for their fifth wicket, before Broumpton finally holed out in the deep.
Opener Jamie Kember - also from the Driffield club - had made a solid looking 35 in the daunting East Yorkshire total of 260 for 7, made off 50 overs.
Mike Hattie (46no) and Lorcan Barker (37) scored the bulk of the runs for York who had reached 117-2 before play was halted due to bad light and rain with nine overs remaining.
