LAST year's finalists, Flamborough and Ebbberston, will be back to contest this year's Driffield Evening Cup competition, with holders Flamborough hoping to defend the cup they comfortably won last season.
Ebberston, finalists in each of the last four seasons, have a bye for the first round while Flamborough take on local opposition in Hutton Cranswick in the much delayed opening round which is set to be complete by this Friday, but will probably compl
ete later than that.
Driffield has three teams in the competition - the Under 17s who play Staxton in round one, and Driffield AN XI who meet Cayton in round two. Driffield RUFC are set to meet Bradshaws in round two, although Bradshaws have dropped out of the Bridlington Evening League and may struggle to raise a team.
Draw: Round One (this round to be played on the ground of the first named club - all subsequent rounds at Driffield CC).
