The Driffield Lawn Tennis Club hosted the first of the Tennis Academy's summer tournaments, sponsored by Springfield Solutions Hull.
With the weather hot and the sun shining at times, there was a huge turn out for this event.

Overall 47 local juniors competed, ranging from 5 to 16 years of age, all of them eager to get a taste of the first competition.

The tournament was split into 5 categories Mini Red beginner 5- 6 years old, Mini Red 7-8 years, Mini Orange 9-10 years, Mini Green beginners 11+ and finally the Juniors, up to 16 years old.

Throughout the day all the matches were played to a very high level, with a good sporting feel - a credit to all the children that took part.

Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to Springfield Solutions for providing all the trophies

Winners were:
Mini Red Beginner - Andrew Watson; Mini Red - Oliver James; Mini Orange - Jack Medforth; Mini Green - Scott James; Junior - Will Walker.

The next tournament will be held on Friday, May 30 from 4pm to 7.30pm and is open to all ages and abilities.

Driffield Lawn Tennis Club is looking for a sponsor to provide trophies for this event.
