Farmers run for charity

DESPITE not training for the event, John Shepherd and Mark Sykes have completed a 10km run and raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
The farmers took part in the Yorkshire 10k Run at Newby Hall and collected £768 in sponsorship.

John (48) who lives in Fraisthorpe, finished 264th out of almost 500 runners, while Tibthorpe-based Mark went even better, coming home in 76th position.

The pair were running in aid of Cystic Fibrosis. John's partner , Melanie, has a daughter who suffers from the complaint.
