Hull City captain, Ian Ashbee, was the proud winner of the Driffield Branch of the Hull City Supporters Club player of the season award held at the KC Stadium.
He was presented with the Driffield Shield and an engraved cut glass decanter and glasses by chairman Bob Horton and junior member Rosie Beach-ell after he was voted number one player by club members following an outstanding season in the Champ-ions
hip with Hull City,

Rosie was delighted that her favourite player had won the prestigious award.

"Ash has been fantastic this season. He has been my favourite player since he came to the club and it was great to present the award to him," she said.

Ian Ashbee, who has captained the side since 2003 said "I would like to thank the Driffield Supporters club for voting for me and for giving me such a fabulous prize.

“Let’s hope we can finish the season by reaching the Premiership for the first time."

Chairman Bob Horton added "The Driffield Branch is always looking for new members to join us at our meetings. Anyone who would like to attend will be made very welcome."

l The Tigers are on course for the Championship Play-Off final after their 2-0 win at Watford in the semi final first leg on Sunday, and if they can confirm their victory in tonight’s second leg at the KC they could book themselves a first appearance at Wembley Stadium - and put themselves in with a big chance of playing Premiership football for the first time next season.
