Middleton went into their final game of the season knowing that it was the last time the team would ever play together - and they enjoyed a good win against Hedon who had beaten them previously in the cup semi-final on pen
alties.

It was a fitting way to end junior football, with some excellent free-flowing football being played by the Middleton lads.

The goals came courtesy of Addy, Hopper, Harris and an own goal.

Hedon’s goals were both penalty kicks.

After the game an emotional Mark Ullyott commented: “It’s been a privilege to see these lads progress over the years with some players playing the full 11 seasons since Under 7s.

“I wish all the lads the best of luck at university or in full-time employment in the near future and hope everything goes well for them.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed nurturing this top group of lads.”

All of the players would like to thank everyone involved with the club over the years. Without their help, playing would simply not have been possible and the lads are extremely grateful for the opportunity that these people have provided. You know who are you are!

Most of all they extend a huge thank you to manager Mark Ullyott who has remained fully committed for the lads throughout his years as coach and has been a good friend to all the players too. He has been a pleasure to play under. Cheers Brad!

Squad: Fowler, Nesfield, Anderson, Harris, Oxtoby, Cousins, Drury, Ullyott, Hopper, Parker, Addy.

Referee: J Peck (Driffield)

Attendance 41.

l There is an end of season celebration being organised. All players past and present welcome. Contact any of the players for details.
